Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) is a mature Kuala Lumpur neighbourhood of 1970s and 1980s terraces and bungalows, many now renovated, with a busy shop-office centre around Jalan Wan Kadir and the TTDI market.
What we usually see in TTDI
Older wiring and ageing pipes
Houses from past decades often run more appliances than their original wiring and DB box were designed for, which shows up as power trips. Older galvanised pipes also corrode from the inside, so slow leaks behind walls are common.
Homes above shop-houses
Many shop-house rows have homes or home offices upstairs, with long pipe runs, shared roofs, and aircon units mounted at the back. Leaks from the floor above and weak water pressure on upper floors are typical calls.
Ceiling cassettes, feature lighting, and filters
Larger homes and high-end condos more often have ceiling cassette or ducted aircon, feature lighting, and whole-house water filters, which need careful access and matching fittings.
