Bed bugs travel in on luggage and second-hand furniture and hide in mattress seams and bed frames. Eggs survive a single treatment, so a follow-up visit is part of the job.
Signs to look for
Itchy bites in lines or clusters after sleeping, small dark spots on mattress seams, shed skins, and live bugs in the seams, frame joints, or headboard.
How the treatment works
Beds and nearby furniture are inspected, vacuumed, and treated along seams, joints, and cracks. A second visit about two weeks later treats bugs that hatched from eggs.
Before the visit
Wash bed linen and clothes from the room on a hot cycle and dry them on high heat. Do not move mattresses to other rooms, which spreads the problem.
