Household pests

Rat and rodent control

Rats in ceilings, kitchens, and back lanes: baiting, trapping, and sealing entry points.

Rats come in from drains, back lanes, and gaps under the roof. Control works best as three steps together: baiting or trapping, removing food sources, and closing the way in.

Signs to look for

Scratching in the ceiling at night, droppings along walls, gnawed food packaging or cables, greasy rub marks along beams, and a strong smell in enclosed spaces.

How the treatment works

Tamper-resistant bait boxes are placed along runways outside and in the roof space, with traps inside the home where bait is not suitable. Entry points are identified and sealed or meshed.

Before the visit

Tell us where you hear or see activity, whether there are children or pets in the house, and whether the roof space can be reached.
